The 2025 Ballon d’Or awards took place at the Paris’ Théâtre du Châtelet, with the best footballers in the world over the past year celebrated for their excellence.

French forward Ousmane Dembele won the award for a first time, while Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmati won the award for a third consecutive time.

Ousmane Dembele enjoyed an impressive campaign in the 2024/25 season, netting 35 goals and providing 16 assists as PSG won a historic treble, including a first-ever UEFA Champions League title.

Aitana Bonmati makes history

Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmati continued her dominance on the women’s award with a third straight win. With this feat, she became the first woman to win the award three times and the only player after Lionel Messi and Michel Platini to win it three consecutive times.
