The Australian coach joined the club last month as a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed from his role as manager.

Espirito Santo had led the club to an European qualification last season for the first time in 30 years, but was sacked after a public fallout with the club owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Postecoglou has only been in charge of the Tricky Trees for five matches, but is yet to record a win.

Forest were defeated 3-0 by Arsenal in the Australian’s first game in charge, while they were held to a 2-2 draw by Real Betis in their first Europa League match of the season.

The team prepares to welcome Danish outfit Midtjylland to the City Ground on Thursday night, eyeing a first win under Postecoglou and a first in all competitions in seven matches.

Gibbs-White confident of success

England international Morgan Gibbs-White, was on his way out of the club last summer, but signed a contract extension and will be eyeing an improved display in their Europa League clash on Thursday.

With tension growing, he believes his side must be patient as the wins will surely come by.

“The way to the top isn’t always beautiful and it’s not always glory,” he said. “You’ve seen in the past month and a half here, we’ve had a change of manager”, Gibbs-White said.

“There’s been a lot that’s happened within the club. We haven’t got a win yet [under Postecoglou], so it’s not all rise and glory.

“We’ve been through the relegation times and we had a great season last season and we’re in Europe now”, he continued.

“The manager has taken well to the group we’ve taken well to him. We believe in him and his ideas. He’s well respected within the group and I think you can see how we’re playing out there. It’s obviously been a difficult moment, a difficult time. But when we get that first win we’ll be fine.

“This is what comes with trying to get to the top. You’re always going to have blips, but when we get that first win we’ll be unstoppable.”
