Their main target during the summer transfer window was Carlos Baleba, but the transfer did not work out due to Brighton’s astronomical financial demands.

Now, Manchester United are looking at other options. In recent weeks, Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton has been mentioned a lot.

But according to TalkSport, Gallagher is an option that Manchester United are looking to explore.

The England international has not enjoyed life at Atletico Madrid this season, as he has made most of his appearances from from bench.

Coach Diego Simeone has preferred to use 33-year-old Koke as his main starter, with Gallagher having to play second fiddle.

Why Conor Gallagher Might Be A Good Deal For Manchester United

Conor Gallagher is not a stranger to English football. In fact, he grew up in the Chelsea academy. He also played at Crystal Palace, where he shone like a million stars.

The fact that Gallagher knows the Premier League very well means that he won’t need a lot of time to adjust if the deal happens in January.

The 25-year-old central midfielder is also the kind of player that could succeed in Ruben Amorim’s setup.

He is fast, has an incredible work rate, a decent passer, and can also crash the opponent’s box.

Gallagher is also a fine tackler, albeit he could be rash at times. Moreover, he won’t cost a lot. Atletico Madrid could accept an offer in the region of €50 million for the former Chelsea man.
