Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman silenced doubts with another scintillating display, scoring one and setting up a second, before Charles De Ketelaere made sure of all three points with a third goal for the visitors.

La Dea move up to 10th on the 2025-26 UCL league phase with 10 points from their first five matches and are close to sealing qualification for the knockout stages.

First half: Goalless first half at Deutsche Bank Park

Atalanta headed into their first European match under Raffaele Palladino on the back of a 1-0 win over Olympique Marseille on match-day four, while Eintracht Frankfurt had secured a point against Napoli.

The home side dominated the early stages of the game and missed several chances to take the lead in a feisty first half.

The visitors were unlucky not to be ahead as Lookman and Scamacca both went close only to be denied by the post as the first half ended goalless.

Second half: Lookman shines as Atalanta sweep away the hosts

Atalanta began the second half with much purpose and scored three times in five minutes to sweep aside the German side.

First, Lookman produced a volleyed finish in the 60th minute from an assist by Charles de Ketelaere to give his side the lead.

The impressive Lookman then turned provider two minutes later, setting up Ederson who brilliantly dinked the Frankfurt goalkeeper.

The lead became three in the 65th minute when De Ketelaere fired in a rebound after a shor from Scamacca had hit the crossbar.

Lookman could have added a fourth afterwards, although his strike was parried away by Zetterer as the visitors sealed a dominant 3-0 away win.

Atalanta get much-needed win

Atalanta were winless in their last two matches, but this win should give them confidence heading into their remaining three matches as they chase qualification for the knockouts.

It also marked a first win in charge for their new manager, who endured a losing debut in the Serie A last weekend.
