Sevilla forward Akor Adams was left disappointed with his side’s display after they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday, SportPremi reports.
The record Europa League winners had entered the clash on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Espanyol last Monday and needed a win to move back into the top half of the standings.
However, they were left to rue their missed opportunities as they failed to convert their dominance into result as they lost in the league for a second straight match.

It marked their eighth defeat in 14 league matches and leaves them in 13th place on the standings with just 16 points.
Real Betis, on the other hand, are fifth with 24 points, level with sixth-placed Espanyol, but are ahead on goal difference.
Sevilla lose again in La Liga
Sevilla welcomed Real Betis to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the derby on Sunday, hoping to return to winning ways after losing to Espanyol in their last outing.
Real Betis, on the other hand, were searching for a first win in three matches after recording back to back stalemates in the league.

The first half began with Sevilla dominating possession, while Betis were comfortable sitting back and ready to hit on the counter.
Both sides were cautious in their approach as the first 45 minutes ended without a goal.
The hosts started the second half on top, but fell behind after a quick break by the visitors, who took the lead through Pablo Fornals.
The playmaker was given space and fired into the net in the 54th minute for his third league goal of the campaign.
Akor Adams then fired straight at the Betis goalkeeper, before the visitors doubled tbeir advantage 14 minutes later.
Sergi Altimira was found in the area and fired home emphatically into the net to make the scoreline 2-0 in favor of Real Betis.
Sevilla’s Isaac Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge in the closing stages of the game, which didn’t matter as the scoreline remained the same.
The visitors claimed their first away win over Sevilla since 2018 and moved back into fifth spot on the standings.
Adams unhappy with performance
Akor Adams played the entire 90 minutes of the clash as Sevilla failed to capitalize on their possession in the match.
Speaking after the defeat, the Nigerian striker expressed disappointment with the performance, but is confident of improvement going forward.
“We can’t lose like this. It’s not just a defeat, it’s a slap in the face at home”, the striker admitted.
“For much of the game we were in control, we had chances, but they took theirs and there are no excuses. We have to work hard and keep going.
“It’s tough for us and for all Sevilla fans. Now we have the Cup midweek and then Valencia. We have to look ahead. We’ll be down today and tomorrow, but we have to pick ourselves up”, he continued.
Sevilla’s next action is a Copa Del Rey second round clash against Extremadura on Thursday, as they hope to return to winning ways.
