The Nigerian national team have been assigned their squad numbers ahead of Tuesday’s opening clash against Tanzania, SportPremi reports.
The Super Eagles will compete in group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
The three-time champions reached the final of the previous edition, but suffered defeat to Ivory Coast in the final and will be eyeing a much improved performance this time around.

Head coach Eric Chelle named a strong 28-man squad for the tournament, with several regulars making their return while some new faces were also included.
The team is made up of three goalkeepers, led by first-choice Stanley Nwabali, while Calvin Bassey leads the eight defenders that were included in the squad.
Wilfried Ndidi, who was named the new captain in the buildup to the tournament, replacing the retired duo of William Troost-Ekong and Ahmed Musa, leads the eight midfielders in the team, while talisman Victor Osimhen headlines the nine forwards in the 28-man list.
Super Eagles get team number
The Super Eagles players have now received their squad numbers ahead of the tournament opener in Morocco, with some retaining their familiar jerseys while others have been handed completely new numbers.
First-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali retains his preferred number 23 jersey, while Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman also keep their number 9 and 7 respectively.
Alex Iwobi will wear the number 17 jersey, while William Troost-Ekong’s iconic number 5 jersey will now be taken up by AFCON debutant Igoh Ogbu, potentially highlighting a huge role for the defender in Morocco.
