English Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest have reportedly set their sights on signing Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru from Lazio, SportPremi reports.

Dele-Bashiru, 24, is currently on duties with the Super Eagles at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, where he has helped the team to the quarterfinals of the competition.
The Super Eagles playmaker joined the Italian club on an initial loan deal from Turkish side Hatayspor in 2024, which was made permanent a year later, but could leave the club as part of an overhaul.
Biancocelesti have already sold Valentin Castellanos to West Ham United and Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce as they look to revamp their squad ahead of the second half of the season.
Could Dele-Bashiru join Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window?
Nottingham Forest have struggled for form in the English Premier League this season and will benefit greatly from the addition of the Super Eagles midfielder.
The Tricky Trees have already inquired about the 24-year-old is valued at €15 million by Lazio according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
However, a permanent deal could prove difficult due to financial fair play constraints, although a loan move with an obligation to buy in the summer could be suitable for both parties.
Why Nottingham Forest need Dele-Bashiru?
Despite their struggles in the league, Nottingham Forest are well-placed to qualify for the knockout rounds in the 2025-26 UEFA Europa League, adding to their fixture schedule.
The midfielder will add to the quality in the squad as they hope to maintain their top-flight status in the English league and also mount a challenge in Europe.
Dele-Bashiru is also a tireless worker in the midfield and will complement Elliott Anderson, who prefers to sit deeper in the Nottingham Forest midfield.
The Nigerian midfielder will also easily adapt at the club, with the presence of compatriots Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi expected to help in his adaptation.
