Former Nigerian U-20 international Afeez Aremu expressed excitement over his latest transfer, after completing a move to join Scottish league side Aberdeen, SportPremi reports.

The defensive midfielder ended his spell at German second division side Kaiserslautern and moves to Scotland on a two-and-a-half year deal until 2028.
The 26-year-old is the club’s fifth arrival of the January transfer window following the previous signings of Lyall Cameron, Liam Morrison, Toyosi Olusanya and Per Kristian Bratveit.

What Aremu said after completing Aberdeen move
Speaking after signing his contract at the Scottish Premier League side, Aremu was very pleased with the move and is excited on the prospects of facing new challenge.
“I’m excited to be here. I’ve been made to feel really welcome, and I can’t wait to get started. I like new challenges and I think Aberdeen offers that. For me, I am growing and taking the next step in my career so it’s a huge move”, the former Nigerian U-20 star stated.
“I’m an aggressive player but I have other attributes to my game. There is a lot to play for this season. There is a chance to move forward, and I want to strengthen the team to help them achieve good things.
“I’m ready to give everything every time I put the shirt on and look forward to playing in front of the fans.”
Meanwhile, Aberdeen Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel hailed the midfielder and expects him to adapt quickly into the setup.
“Afeez is going to bring a real physical edge to the squad, something which I think we have been looking for,” Pfannenstiel said.
“He’s strong, robust and comes with good experience in a competitive environment in Germany.
“He’s also tactically aware, so combined with all his athletic attributes, we believe he can adapt well to the intensity of the Scottish game and make a real impact.”
Afeez could make his debut for Aberdeen in their next league match against Kilmarnock later on Saturday.
