The Portuguese champions agreed a season-long loan move with the French club, with an option to purchase for €8 million in the summer to acquire the services of the Super Eagles attacker.

Moffi last played for Nice in November 2025, during a 3-1 defeat to Lorient in the French Ligue One. However, it was the events that unfolded after the match that has led to his departure from the club.

The 26-year-old alongside some of his teammates were assaulted by the clubs supporters and was subsequently placed on a sick leave by the club.

He has not returned to action since then and was keen on the move to Porto, where he has now reunited with former manager Francesco Farioli.

Terem Moffi will be hoping to rediscover his scoring touch after completing the move to the former Champions League winners.

The Super Eagles star most prolific campaign in France came under Farioli and he will be eyeing a repeat of that display in Portugal.

Speaking after signing his contract at the club, the 26-year-old was delighted and has backed himself to succeed at the club.

“I feel very proud to be here, to wear the colours of the club. It’s really emotional for me, and I appreciate the president, the coach and the fans,” Moffi said.

“Porto are a club that always wants to win trophies, to win games in the Champions League and the Liga Portugal. We know how important this is to the fans and to the Porto family. It feels good to be here.

“Mr Francesco is a person who focuses on details; body shape, how you take the touch, where you take the touch into”, the Super Eagles star continued.

“He’s focused on the details to make you a better player. It’s not a surprise to see what he’s doing now. When he left, he went to Ajax as well, and he did great there. He’s now at Porto doing something extraordinary, big ups to him.

I think I just want to be happy playing football. When I’m happy, nothing matters to me anymore; that’s when I’m at my best. I love scoring goals, working for my team and interacting with the fans.

“There are huge expectations, I know, but I think with the help of God, the goals they want to see will come”, he concluded.

Moffi could make his debut for Porto on Monday night when they visit Casa Pia in a Portuguese league match.
