Nigerian international Joe Aribo is close to sealing a loan move to join English Championship club Leicester City from Southampton until the end of the season, SportPremi reports.
The midfielder has fallen out of favour at the Saints after a failed move last summer, but will now join the Foxes with only six months left on his contract.
Aribo joined Southampton in 2022 from Scottish side Rangers and has made 111 appearances for the club across all competitions since his arrival.
Despite being an integral part of the squad after his initial move, he has dropped down the pecking order this season and has been limited to only seven appearances out of the Saints’ 30 league matches.
He will now join Leicester City until the end of the season before making a decision on his next club in the summer.
Aribo gets Southampton exit
Joe Aribo played a key role for Southampton last season, although they suffered relegation from the English Premier League and was linked with an exit from the club last summer.
He went on to remain at the club and missed the preseason action, which led to his late introduction into the team this season.
Since then, he has struggled to regain his spot in the team and now departs with only six months left in his contract.
