The Gunners booked their spot in the final for the first time in 20 years after eliminating Atletico Madrid in the semifinal and will now face defending champions PSG in the final on May 30.

Arsenal head into the final unbeaten in Europe this season and have a real chance of lifting their first trophy in the competition.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already gone past Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP and Atletico Madrid in the knockout round, with PSG posing their toughest test yet.

Kingsley Obiekwu gives prediction of 2026 Champions League final

Former Super Eagles defender Kingsley Ubiekwu, who was among the iconic Nigerian side that won gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, has revealed his pick to win the upcoming Champions League final.

The former Go Ahead Eagles defender believes Arsenal are more solid in defence and that should give them an edge over PSG.

“I think Arsenal’s run this term, as was the case last season, has revolved around their defence”, Obiekwu said.

“I didn’t play for the London club during my career but, from close observation, I think the club has improved tremendously since last season. They are top of the EPL table with two or three games to go. They are also in the UCL final where they will meet PSG.

“Their defence has been key to this and could still come to the fore in the UCL final against PSG. They score goals and still defend very well. It is like Jose Mourinho’s era at Chelsea FC. Mourinho believed that if his team scored a goal, they could defend it until the end. Chelsea were able to win several titles with that approach”, the Olympic Gold Medalist added.

“Arsenal have displayed this quality consistently and I think they can do it again.

“They play well, they score goals and still defend very well. This has worked for them and I can see it happening again,” Obiekwu concluded.

Arsenal and PSG will face-off against each other in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League final in Budapest on May 30, with kickoff at 5:00 PM.
