Despite repeated attempts by Ronaldo agent Jorge Mendes to find his client a new club, including the possibility of joining Napoli, Man United seems to have decided to retain the Portuguese star.

During the pre-match press conference in view of tomorrow’s match against Leicester City, Erik ten Hag, Man United coach, spoke about the situation regarding Ronaldo given the numerous market rumors in recent weeks.

Man United have signed Brazilian Antony and and could soon sign Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a season-long loan deal. But Ten Hag, speaking ahead of Thursday’s trip to Leicester, said United’s £231m summer expenditure will signal the end of their summer spending.

“It’s clearly, obvious. As I said, we need quality players around,” Ten Hag replied at a press conference when asked about Ronaldo. “We will go from September to January, at least with this group.”

The media in England reported that in recent weeks Cristiano Ronaldo has been looking for a team in the Champions League this season, unfortunately United will be playing in the Europa League.

Ten Hag also spoke on Aaron if he will be staying or going.

“Aaron is in and we will keep him, he will stay. So this squad will go from September until the minimum, January. We will play with this squad for the season.”
