Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy is edging closer to joining newly-promoted Italian Serie A club Cremonese.

Vardy called time on his 13-year stay at Leicester City at the end of last season. The 38-year-old striker left the club as the greatest-ever goalscorer, as he led them to the English Premier League and the FA Cup.

With his 200 goals and 71 assists, Vardy is the club’s record highest goalscorer in across all competitions, and by a mile.

However, he is set for a fresh beginning this summer, as he will be playing for a new club. But Vardy is yet to make a decision despite being linked to other clubs like Napoli and Celtic.

Jamie Vardy Set To End Speculations

But it appears that the 38-year-old striker might just end the speculations surrounding his career soon. This is as transfers expert Nico Schira reports that Cremonese have opened negotiations with Vardy over a possible move this summer.

The Serie A club are offering the Englishman a one-year contract with an extra year extension clause, and it seems that Vardy will accept the offer.

If the deal happens, it will be the first time that Vardy will join a club outside of England. Before Leicester City, Vardy played for Stockbridge, Halifax Town, and Fleetwood.

Vardy’s decision to join Cremonese or even stay in Europe is pretty shocking. Most players his age often move to the Middle East or the Major League Soccer. But Vardy still wants to remain in Europe.

He will hope to seal his transfer before the transfer window closes on September 1.
