English Premier League side West Ham United have parted ways with manager Graham Potter.

The 50-year-old joined the club in January, coming in as a replacement for Julien Lopetegui, who was dismissed after a disappointing start to the 2024/25 campaign.
Potter helped the club to a 14th-placed finish in the league, as they avoided relegation into the second tier.
However, the Englishman has struggled to get results in the current campaign, with only one win from his first five league matches.
The Hammers began the season with a shock 3-0 defeat at newly-promoted Sunderland, while they have also suffered big defeats to London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
They have conceded 13 goals in the league this season, including five set-pieces, highlighting their defensive fragilities.
Last weekend’s defeat to Tottenham had raised tensions among the fans, with many calling for Potter’s dismissal.
In a statement released on Saturday, the club explained the decision to sack the English manager, after just under a year in charge of the club.
“West Ham United can confirm that head coach Graham Potter has left the club”, the club revealed on social media.
“Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the board of directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.”
Former Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been identified by the club as potential candidate to succeed Potter at the club.
What next for Potter?
Once an exciting manager at Brighton, Potter has now suffered successive dismissals at his next two clubs.
He spent less than a year in charge at Chelsea and has now suffered the same fate at West Ham, following his dismissal in just nine months.
He won only six of his 25 games in charge and struggled to instill his ideology on the Hammers’ team.
The 50-year-old will need to reevaluate his options, before making his next move as he hopes to revive his managerial career.
