Akor Adams has said that his main priority is helping Sevilla FC win matches after they were held to a 1–1 draw by Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward ended his five-game drought with the opener in the clash, but the Rojiblancos were pegged back by a second half strike by Pacha.
They are now unbeaten in their last five league matches, although they have drawn four times and have only won once, a 1-0 win at Getafe in February.
Adams strike as Sevilla drop points at home
Sevilla went into the clash after a valuable 2-2 draw at Real Betis in their last outing, with Adams starting upfront hoping to end his goal drought.
It took only 13 minutes for the Super Eagles striker to break the deadlock, as the Nigerian headed home after a beautiful delivery from Cesar Azpilicueta.
It marked his seventh league goal of the campaign and his fourth since arriving back at the club from duties with Nigeria at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament.
Alexis Sanchez was then denied by a superb block, before Adams fired wide after dribbling into the box from the right side.
Rayo Vallecano equalized five minutes after the restart as Fran Perez found Pacha Espino, who fired in a spectacular goal into the top corner.
Despite several other chances in the game, both sides could only settle for a single point.
Sevilla remain in 14th place, one spot behind Rayo Vallecano, with both teams on 31 points and six points above the drop zone.
Adams reacts to Sevilla’s draw against Rayo Vallecano
Speaking after the match, Adams who ended his five-game goal drought with a superb opener, was delighted to have scored in the clash but urged his side to improve on their performances in upcoming games.
“I think every point is important at this stage of the season. We work hard to get them. We got a point. But there are many things to work on and improve to reach our goal of three points,” Adams revealed.
“Yes, we’re happy to have gotten a point, but not entirely, because I also take responsibility. There were many situations that could have put us ahead. We’ll just work on that and we’ll be better next time.
For me, the most important thing is to win with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches.
Yes, scoring goals is my job. But at this stage of the season, it doesn’t matter if Kike scores or if Lucien scores. In the end, we’re a team. We need to get points. But seven goals… I think I should have scored more. So I’m grateful to God, but I’m not satisfied right now”, the Nigerian forward concluded.
Sevilla will hope to return to winning ways, although they face a tough test in their next clash on Sunday against champions Barcelona.
