Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has praised his side’s performance after they recorded an impressive 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday to ease relegation worries.

Los Rojiblancos claimed only their ninth league win of the campaign on Saturday night to climb out of the bottom three and hand new head coach Luis Garcia his first win in charge.
Adams, who had come under criticism in recent outings following a series of poor performances from the entire team, opened the scoring with an emphatic penalty kick in the 10th minute, against an Atletico Madrid side who made 10 changes to the starting lineup.
However, the youthful visitors scored an equalizer later in the second half through Javier Bonar, before Sevilla went back in front in the closing stages of the half.

Nigerian forward Adams ended his three-match goal with the opener in the encounter, scoring a well-taken penalty that beat Juan Musso in the Atletico goal.
Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old expressed satisfaction with the entire team performance and also applauded the fans for their massive support.
“Everyone played a good game: Manu and Agoumé in midfield, Castrín at the back, and everyone else. We all achieved our goal”, Adams said.
“The fans’ support was incredible; it gave us a great energy. We play for them, and if we’re all like this, we’ll be happy every week, all the energy of the club, the fans, and the players transformed into a positive atmosphere for this match. We gave 100% and achieved our objective, which was the three points”, he concluded.
Sevilla will now have more than a week to prepare for their next encounter against Levante, scheduled to hold on April 23.
