The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn with South Africa, Burundi and Botswana in Group C of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Africa Women’s Cup of Nations is set to be held in July with four spots at the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup at stake
Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the defending champions, have been grouped in Group C with Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Burundi, and Botswana.
The African champions will renew their rivalry with South Africa, having won the previous tournament, which was hosted by Ghana in 2018.
The Super Falcons defeated Banyana 4-3 on penalties in the final to win their 11th continental title.
The hosts Morocco are in Group A alongside Senegal, Uganda and debutants Burkina Faso, while Group B features Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia and Togo.
The opening game of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2022 will see hosts Morocco take on Burkina Faso on July 2nd at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
