Chelsea recorded a third consecutive victory in the English Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Burnley as league action resumed after the international break, SportPremi reports.

Pedro Neto continued his fine form with the opener in the first half, before Enzo Fernandez made sure of all three points with a late second to complete the win.

The Blues also moved temporarily up to second in the standings, three points behind Arsenal ahead of other rounds of matches this weekend.

First half: Pedro Neto gives Chelsea the lead going into the break

Burnley started an unchanged team from their last league outing, a 3-2 defeat at West Ham United, while Chelsea started the match without some of their regular starters.

Both sides traded early chances in the clash, although the home side had the first shot on target of the game, saved by Robert Sanchez in the visitors goal.

The Blues went ahead in the 37th minute after Pedro Neto got on the end of a brilliant delivery from Jamie Gittens and applied a headed finish to give his side the lead.

Second half: Fernandez seals win in final stages of clash

Chelsea dominated the early part of the second half and were only denied a second by the woodwork.

Pedro Neto, who had opened the scoring, fired in a shot that was tipped unto the post by Martin Dubravka.

Burnley wasted a chance to equalize through Zian Flemming, before Chelsea sealed the win late in the game through Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea recorded a third straight league win with the comfortable victory over Burnley on Saturday.

It marked a seventh win from 12 matches for the Blues, who move up to second on the standings temporarily.

Enzo Maresca’s side will be riding high on confidence going into the UCL clash against Barcelona on Tuesday, especially with a couple of their key players getting the much-needed rest.
