Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has called for an improved performance from summer signing Christantus Uche and the rest of the team, following their Carabao Cup win over Millwall on Tuesday.
The reigning FA Cup and Community Shield winners labored to a win over their second division opponents on Tuesday night, when both sides clashed in the Carabao Cup third round.
After a goalless first half, Chris Richards fired home the opener from a corner kick in the 72nd minute of the encounter.
The Eagles were on their way to victory until Ryan Leonard equalized with a header from a corner kick in stoppage time to send the game into penalty shootout.
Crystal Palace’s debutant goalkeeper Walter Daniel Benitez saved two spot kicks, to send his side through to the fourth round of the competition.
Nigerian international Christantus Uche came on at halftime for Romain Esse, who was hooked at halftime after a disappointing display.
The 22-year-old Super Eagles star had made his debut against Sunderland last weekend, producing an impressive cameo in his short time on the pitch.
Uche’s next chance to impress will be against West Ham United on Saturday at the London Stadium.
Oliver Glasner frustrated with Crystal Palace’s display
Speaking after the match, the Eagles boss expressed frustration at the team’s overall display and demanded much improvement ahead of their next match.

“We lost so many balls and we lost so many duels. We were too long on the ball and we took a few wrong decisions. We missed a few chances. And so the game was how it was”, the Crystal Palace boss revealed.
“We complained about fouls. It was Romain Esse, a few times JP (Jean-Philippe Mateta), it was Uche in the second half. And I would say welcome to English football.
This is what they have to learn, what they have to improve. And then you can’t complain about getting a foul because the game goes into the other direction”, he added.
“You can’t get control over the ball in their half when you lose so many balls. We lost so many balls, so many duels.”
