Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho seemingly aimed a dig at Manchester United in his statement after officially completing his transfer to Chelsea.
Garnacho burned bridges with Manchester United at the end of last season, and it was clear that he would leave at the end of the season.
So, after a long summer of speculations and negotiations, the 21-year-old winger completed his transfer to Chelsea on Saturday.
Garnacho looked quite happy in the club’s colours as he signed his contract, and in his first statements as a Chelsea player, he expressed it.
“It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started,” Garnacho said.
“I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy.”
For a player like Garnacho, who spent the last five years of his life at Manchester United, calling Chelsea the best team in the world really looks like a slight dig because the Red Devils have been struggling for years.
Garnacho has to hit the ground running at Chelsea

Now that Alejandro Garnacho has completed his transfer to Chelsea, he has to prove himself.
He comes into a working system with players who are operating on a high level, so he has to up his game too. His numbers have to get better, and same with his character.
When the young Argentine broke out years ago, he was expected to take the world by storm. He has live up that billing.
