The Nigerian international joined the club in 2025 and enjoyed a very impressive debut year in the Northern Super League.

The 28-year-old scored eight times and provided 11 assists in 20 league matches and was named in the inaugural Northern Super League team of the season.

Esther scored a hat-trick in the semifinal playoffs against Montreal Roses, but she and AFC Toronto fell short in the final when they were defeated 2-1 by Vancouver.

“We’re delighted that Esther (Okoronkwo), Lauren, Zoe, and Kaila have all committed to extending their time with AFC Toronto”, the club said in a statement.

“Their commitment reinforces our belief in this group and our ambition as we continue to build toward the future.”

Esther helped Nigeria to a record-extending WAFCON title last year and will be hoping for another impressive outing in the 2026 edition.

The 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations tournament will hold in Morocco between March 17 and April 3, with the Super Falcons hoping to successfully defend their crown.
