For the Nigerian players involved, it was a week of contrasting fortunes as some produced remarkable performances for their clubs, while others struggled to help their clubs to favorable results.

Lookman shines, Onyedika’s Brugge lose and Osimhen missing for Galatasaray

The Nigerian midfielder received a caution in the 20th minute of the clash as the Belgian side drop to 26th in the standings.
The Blue Blacks must quickly bounce back if they are to secure a spot in the knockout rounds of the competition.
Victor Osimhen, on the other hand, was absent as Galatasaray were defeated 1-0 by Union Saint-Gilloise to halt their winning streak in the UCL.
The Nigerian striker suffered an injury on international duty and has missed the last two matches for the Turkish champions.
The 26-year-old should return for their next European clash, as they battle it out with other teams to reach the knockout rounds.

Uzoho stars, Uche no-show

The Cyprus club claimed their first win of the Europa League campaign with a 2-0 result over Dynamo Kyiv.
Uzoho was very impressive and made four saves as he recorded his first clean sheet in the league phase.
Elsewhere, Christantus Uche was overlooked once again by Oliver Glasner as Crystal Palace lost 2-1 at Strasbourg.
The English side took the lead, before the French outfit completed a second half comeback to claim the victory.
Uche’s underwhelming loan spell at Palace continued and he could be set for an early return to his parent club, Getafe in January.
