The 32-year-old has enjoyed a great start to the 2025/26 season for club and country, scoring 21 goals from 15 appearances across all competitions.

The England captain has 11 goals in the German Bundesliga this season, six more than any other player as Bayern have enjoyed a 100% start, winning all their six matches.

Despite enjoying an impressive 2024/25 campaign while leading Bayern Munich to reclaim their league title from Bayer Leverkusen, Kane finished 13th in the ballon d’Or rankings.

He has however finished in 10th-place on three occasions- in 2017, 2018 and 2024, but is eyeing a podium finish for the first time in his career at next year’s ceremony.

Kane sets sights on Ballon d’Or award

Having started the season in impressive form, Harry Kane will hope to finish the season with multiple silverwares to stand a chance of winning the prestigious award.

Speaking in a recent interview, The England forward opened up about his desire to bag the award.

“Obviously, I would love to win the Ballon d’Or,” Kane said in an interview.

“But essentially, it is a team trophy that the best individual from that team wins. So unless you win the biggest competitions, it is going to be a Champions League winner or a World Cup winner this time around.

“I would love to win it for sure, it would be an accumulation of doing something great individually and as a team. It would be almost the perfect season”, he continued.

“The opportunity is there when you are playing at a club like Bayern and competing at the highest level – always one of the favourites to win the Champions League – and with England we are going to be one of the favourites to win the World Cup, so, yeah, there is a long way from now until then.

“But if I keep doing what I am doing and we have a successful season with club and country then there is a chance to do that.”
