The Cranes face the already-qualified Super Eagles in a must-win clash as they look to book their spot in the round of 16 of the competition.

Nigeria have already qualified as group C winners having won both of their first two matches and could make several changes to the team ahead of the clash, giving the Ugandans a real opportunity to snatch a favourable outcome from the clash.

Uganda have a better head-to-head record against the three-time champions and are unbeaten in their last three meetings.

However, the Super Eagles’ quality and impressive form is most likely going to give them the edge, making this match one to look out for.

The Cranes began their campaign with a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Tunisia in their opening group match.

They were then held to a 1-1 draw by Tanzania in their second match, leaving them with a single point from two matches.

After going behind to the Tanzanians, Uche Ikpeazu pulled one back for the Cranes, who missed an opportunity to snatch all three points when Allan Okello missed a penalty in stoppage-time.

Uganda head into must-win clash against Nigeria

While the match is a chance for Nigerian head coach Eric Chelle to give minutes to new faces in his squad, it is a crucial encounter for Uganda.

The Cranes have to win to qualify for the next round, either as runners-up or as the third-best team from Group C, depending on the result of the other group match between Tunisia and Tanzania.
