Speaking after the match, Madugu assured that Okoronkwo’s injury is not serious but confirmed that Abiodun will undergo further medical checks.

“For Esther, I think the injury isn’t serious. For Deborah, I have spoken to the medical and they will take her for further assessment,” said head coach Justin Madugu after the game.

The Super Falcons qualified for the 2026 WAFCON with a 3–1 aggregate victory over Benin Republic and will look to defend their title as 10-time African champions.

The 2026 WAFCON will be held in Morocco from March 17 to April 13, and the Super Falcons will enter the tournament as one of the leading contenders to reclaim the continental crown.
