Manchester United attacker Antony is closing in on a transfer to Spanish La Liga club Real Betis.

Antony is one of the players who Manchester United are looking to offload this summer. The 25-year-old Brazilian right winger joined the Red Devils from Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax in a deal worth €95 million in 2022.

Unfortunately for Antony and Manchester United, the deal has not worked well, as the Brazilian has been a massive flop.

Due to his struggles, Antony had to leave the Red Devils to join La Liga club Real Betis in the second half of last season.

After his move to Real Betis, the Brazilian attacker quickly picked up the pace and became an important player for them.

He contributed nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for Los Verdiblancos last season, helping them to a sixth-place finish in La Liga and a second-place finish in the UEFA Conference League.

Despite spending a very short time at Real Betis, he also became a fan favourites. However, the Spanish club could not sign him permanently at the expiration of the deal due to Manchester United’s high valuation of the player.

Since then, Antony has been linked with clubs Iike Al Nassr and Benfica, but nothing has emerged yet.

However, Real Betis are now willing to do business. And it appears that Manchester United are willing to give them a soft landing due to their failure to get a ready buyer for Antony.

According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Antony is closing in on a return to Real Betis. But as at the time of this report, the details have not been confirmed.

After Antony Exit, Who’s Next At Manchester United?

With Antony’s Manchester United exit almost sure, the club has to start looking at pushing other players out.

Rasmus Hojlund seems sure to join Napoli in the coming hours, but they have to sell players like Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana, who are not in Ruben Amorim’s plans.
