Fulham manager Marco Silva is impressed by the attitude of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze and is hopeful the winger succeeds at the club.
Chukwueze joined the Cottagers on transfer deadline day on an initial season-long loan deal, which includes an option to buy permanently next summer.
The Super Eagles star featured in both of his country’s qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, against Rwanda and South Africa in the international break.
He first rose to prominence at Spanish club Villareal, but struggled to replicate the same form after he switched to AC Milan, with inconsistencies and different managerial changes affecting his play.
The 26-year-old is expected to make his EPL bow for Fulham this weekend, when they host newly-promoted Leeds United.
Speaking in his prematch press conference ahead of the tie at Craven Cottage, Silva expressed satisfaction with Chukwueze’s attitude and also spoke about the club’s other summer acquisitions.

“We believe the profiles of Chukwueze and Kevin will add to what we’ve been looking for in those areas of the pitch”, Marco Silva revealed.
“With Adama, Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi, they’re going to be our solutions for the wide areas of the pitch.
“Kevin has settled in well. He’s working hard to understand everything we need from him. He’s very young, 22-years-old, but he has the experience of playing Champions League and European games”, he continued.
“The first time I saw Chukwueze and Jonah [Kusi-Asare] was yesterday, but Kevin is slightly different because he’s been with us for the last 10 days.”
Chukwueze hopeful of decent spell at Fulham
The Nigerian winger produced dazzling displays in the Spanish La Liga for Villareal but struggled to replicate the same performances for AC Milan.
He battled with injuries and inconsistent displays while the different managerial changes also affected his style.
Now set for a fresh start in a new environment, Chukwueze should adapt to Fulham’s style of play and his pace and physicality should enable him flourish in Marco Silva’s system.
It also reunites him with countrymen, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, who have both improved their style of plays since moving to the London club.
