Moses Simon was the hero for Paris FC as his goal sealed a hard-fought 1–0 victory over AS Monaco on Saturday night, the team’s first win in four league games.

The Nigerian winger, who has been one of Paris FC’s standout players this season, scored early in the second half to hand Marco Simone’s side all three points at the Stade Louis II.
How the Game Unfolded
Monaco started brightly and dominated possession throughout the first half, creating several chances through Aleksandr Golovin and Krépin Diatta. However, Paris FC defended resolutely, keeping Kevin Trapp largely untested.
Just eight minutes after the restart, Paris FC stunned the home crowd. Captain Maxime Lopez powered down the right flank and squared a low cross into the box, where Moses Simon reacted quickly to guide the ball into the net for 1–0.

Despite Monaco’s late pressure, Trapp pulled off several key saves to deny Biereth and Minamino, helping Paris FC hold on for their first away win of the season.
Moses Simon’s Season So Far

The goal marked Moses Simon’s third of the campaign, adding to his two assists so far in Ligue 1. His pace, pressing, and clinical finishing have made him one of the club’s most consistent performers.
The Nigerian international has now been directly involved in five goals this season and continues to be a vital player for Paris FC’s attack.
What It Means for Nigeria
Simon’s form is a major boost for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who is preparing for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff mini-tournament in Morocco from 13–16 November 2025.
He was instrumental in Nigeria’s 4–0 win over Benin earlier in qualifying, providing two assists, and will again be key as the Super Eagles face Gabon in their opening playoff match.
What’s Next
Paris FC returns home to face Rennes on November 7, aiming to build momentum from this impressive victory.
