Paul Onuachu scored for fifth league game in a row for Trabzonspor as they sealed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Gaziantep in the Turkish Super League on Sunday.

The Super Eagles forward grabbed the winner in the 27th minute, after Felipe Augusto had canceled out Mohamed Bayo’s opener for Gaziantep.

It marked his 17th league goal of the campaign and his sixth since returning from winning bronze with Nigeria at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament.

Trabzonspor closed the gap to Galatasaray at the top of the standings to seven points, as they claimed their 14th league win of the season.

Onuachu continues scoring streak for Trabzonspor

Gaziantep played host to Trabzonspor in a match-day 23 action in the Turkish Super League at the Gaziantep Stadium on Sunday.

Mohamed Bayo put the home side ahead in the 22nd minute after a bright start to the game, but the visitors hit back almost immediately, scoring their equalizer through Augusto two minutes later.

The in-form Onuachu then put his side ahead in the 27th minute, scoring for a fifth consecutive league outing which proved to be the winner as Trabzonspor sealed a crucial comeback win.

What next?

Trabzonspor will return to action on Friday when they play host to Fatih Karagumruk, while Gaziantep visit Samsunspor on Sunday.
