Each season, the prestigious Golden boot is awarded to the players with the most goals in the league campaign.

Mohamed Salah reigned supreme in the 2024-25 season, delivering arguably one of the most remarkable individual performances in the league history.

9. Erling Haaland (2 awards):

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland arrived in England before the 2022-23 season and wasted no time announcing himself to the league to claim the Golden Boot in back-to-back campaigns.

The Norwegian scored 36 goals in his first season, breaking the record for most goals in a single EPL campaign and added another 27 goals to win the award in the following season.

He missed out to Salah last season, finishing seven goals behind the Egyptian forward, but is looking to reclaim his crown this season, leading the charts already with nine goals.

Former Arsenal and Manchester United forward Robin Van Persie won the golden boot once with each club.

After winning the award with 30 goals at Arsenal in 2011-12, the former Netherlands striker moved to Manchester United at the start of the new campaign where he scored 26 goals to help them to a 20th-league title.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba bagged two golden boot awards, winning a first in 2006-07 and a second in 2009-10.

The iconic Ivorian scored 20 goals in his first golden boot win, before netting 29 goals as Chelsea won the league title in 2009-10.

6. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (2 awards):

Former Dutch international Floyd Hasselbaink was a key member of the famous treble-winning Manchester United team.

He won two golden boot awards in three seasons, in the 1998-99 season, becoming the first non-Englishman to win the award and also in the 2000-01 season.

5. Michael Owen (2 awards):

Both of Michael Owen’s golden boot wins were joint awards, as he shared the honor with other players on each occasion.

The former England striker earned his first award in the 1998-98 season, sharing the accolade with two others, before repeating the feat in 1998-99 once more in another three-way tir.

4. Alan Shearer (3 awards):

Shearer stands tall as the record goalscorer in English Premier League history, but is not the player with the most golden boot awards.

However, he won three awards, becoming the first player to win it three times in a row and also the first to win it with two different clubs.

Shearer won two consecutive awards with Blackburn Rovers between 1994 and 1996, but moved to Newcastle United where he won a third in the 1996-97 season.

England captain Harry Kane is tied with Shearer for most golden boot wins by an English player (3).

Kane won two consecutive awards in 2015-16 and 2016-17, adding a third award in the 2020-21 season.

2. Thierry Henry (4 awards):

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry holds several records in the English Premier League and has the joint-most golden boot awards in history.

The Frenchman was also the first to win the award four times and he remains the only Premier League player to have won the European golden boot twice.

Salah broke multiple records in the 2024-25 season, leading Liverpool to their record-equaling 20th league title, while claiming a record-equaling fourth golden boot award.

The Egyptian was rewarded for his outstanding contributions with an improved contract, making him the second-highest paid player in the league.

He has shared the award with other players on two occasions, in 2028-19 and in 2021-22.
