Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that French Ligue 1 champipns PSG were willing to pay €200 million for Victor Osimhen and Georgian wunderkid Khvicha Kvaratskhelia last year.
Two years ago, Napoli were the darlings of Italy, they had just won their first Scudetto in over 30 years.
The two players, who were key to that success were Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Both players were at their best, with Osimhen contributing 26 goals and four assists, while Kvaratskhelia chimed in with 12 goals and 10 assists. They were simply electric in the Partenopei colours.

That summer, they were linked to many clubs, but they opted to stay at Napoli and prosecute the new campaign with the hope of defending their title.
Unfortunately for them, their title defence was one of the worst in Serie A history, as they ended the campaign in 10th place.
After the season ended last year, there were numerous speculations linking Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia to many clubs in Europe. But they did not get the move. It was also unclear whether they actually got offers, or they didn’t.
By the end of last summer, Kvaratskhelia had to stay at Napoli, while Osimhen had already burnt bridges with the club and had to leave for a loan transfer to Galatasaray, as coach Antonio Conte exiled him from the squad.

Kvaratskhelia eventually got his move in January, as he joined PSG in a deal worth €70 million. Osimhen had to wait until this summer before sealing a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.
What De Laurentiis Said About Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has now opened up on what happened with the two players.
He revealed that his club actually got a big offer from PSG for Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia, but he did not accept the offer, as he had promised Conte that he would not sell the two players last year.
“I could have sold Kvaratskhelia last year. PSG had offered over €200 million for both Kvara and Osimhen,” De Laurentiis told Italian press on Thursday.
Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia are now doing well at their clubs. The Nigerian striker is the star man at Galatasaray while the Georgian winger is an important member of the squad at PSG.
They will hope to have solid campaigns this season.
