Wolves manager Rob Edwards has hailed his side’s display and believes they deserved the point they got after holding Manchester United to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, SportPremi reports.

The English Premier League’s bottom club recorded their third point of the season with an important draw at the Old Trafford Stadium in their match-day 19 clash.
Although they remain winless this season, the West Midlands club will take confidence from their recent performances and will hope for a better performance as they begin the new year.
Wolves snatch impressive point at Old Trafford
Manchester United were without eight senior players for the clash due to injuries, while some were on international duties at the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament.
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare, who was left out of the tournament by Eric Chelle, started upfront for Wolves.
The Red Devils reverted to a back three formation and dominated the early part of the match, despite resilient defending from Wolves.
Joshua Zirkzee broke the deadlock in the 27th minute as his strike took a huge deflection off Krejci and beat Jose Sa en route entering the net.
Man United then went close through Benjamin Sesko who struck the crossbar, before Arokodare headed over.
The league’s worst side improved and grabbed an equalizer on the stroke of halftime, as Krejci made amends with a header past Senne Lammens.
Sesko wasted another effort to put Man United ahead in the second half, before Mosquera was prevented from scoring an own goal after a superb save from Sa.
Lammens also kept the home side in the game with a save of his own, before Patrick Dorgu was denied a late winner by the VAR.
The Denmark international fired home from a rebound, but was deemed to be offside as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Red Devils missed the chance to go fourth on the standings, while Wolves grabbed their third point of the campaign.
Edwards happy with important point
Rob Edwards led Wolves to a first positive result since taking over the club in November, guiding them to an important away point against Man United.
Reacting to the performance, the 43-year-old believes his side could have even snatched a victory from the clash.
“We had some good chances, at least we take something from the game. It’s progress. But yeah I feel like a draw is the least we deserve tonight”, Edwards stated.
“At the beginning of the day we were coming here to win. We really believed. To go 1-0 down at Old Trafford can be really difficult but we kept fighting and found a way to get back into it before half-time.
“We could have taken more from the game but overall the desire from the players was there and that’s why the fans were happy at the end”, he concluded.
Wolves play host to fellow strugglers West Ham United in their first match of 2026 on the 3rd of January, while Manchester United and Leeds United clash a day later.
