The 2025/2026 Italian Serie A will start this weekend, and Napoli will be looking to defend their title under the tutelage of coach Antonio Conte.

Last season, the odds were stacked against the Partenopei, as they had lost their top stars Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen. They also lacked quality in the middle of the park.

However, with signings like Romelu Lukaku, Scott McTominay, and Leonardo Spinazzola, who all caught fire at the right time, Napoli beat Inter Milan and Atalanta to the Scudetto.

Ahead of the new season, Napoli have not sold any of their best players from last season. But unfortunately for them, they have suffered a huge blow. This is as Lukaku has sustained a muscle injury which will keep him out of action for at least three months.

As such, Napoli need to go into the market for a new striker before the Serie A transfer market closes on September 1.

In this piece, we highlight three strikers who would fit in at Naples seamlessly.

1. Dusan Vlahovic

The Serbian striker is expected to change clubs this summer. He has been at Juventus since 2022, joining the club in a deal worth €83.5 million from Fiorentina.

Unfortunately, things have not worked well for him there, and coach Igor Tudor does not seem to have him in his plans.

Also, he is the highest-paid player by more than 100 percent at Juventus, so the club want to push him out.

Vlahovic would be a fine signing for Napoli if they can navigate the problem of his wages and his price. He is quick, great with his feet, and a brilliant finisher.

The Serbian also has Serie A experience, as he has been in Italy since 2018. Moreover, Vlahovic is just 25, so he can stay at Napoli for a long time.

2. Joshua Zirkzee

Zirkzee would also be a very good signing for Napoli. He played at Bologna two seasons ago and put up 11 goals and five assists in 34 appearances. That was what earned him a transfer to Manchester United. Unfortunately for him, he has struggled to make a mark there, as he has contributed just seven goals and three assists.

Zirkzee has a similar profile to Lukaku. He is great with the ball on his feet, and does well when he has a partner in the final third. The Dutchman is also big and strong, so he should fit in seamlessly at Napoli. Zirkzee is also another affordable option for the Italian champions.

3. Victor Boniface

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is another fine option for Napoli. He has a very similar profile to Lukaku, as he is quick and physical.

Boniface is also a great dribbler and can play off another player. He could strike up partnership with Scott McTominay that could be very deadly and proficient.

Boniface would also available, as Bayer Leverkusen might accept a fee in the region of €40 million.
