Samsunspor president Yuksel Yildirim has praised Victor Osimhen’s quality following the striker’s stunning winning goal for Galatasaray against his side on Friday, SportPremi reports.

The forward joined the Lions on an initial loan deal in the previous summer from Italian side Napoli.
Despite interest from Saudi Arabia and some of Europe’s biggest clubs, the 26-year-old’s loan deal was made permanent for €75 million in the summer, marking the most expensive transfer in Turkish league history.
Osimhen’s brace lifts Galatasaray over Samsunspor
Galatasaray headed into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against rivals Fenerbahce in their last match on Monday.
Osimhen made his second start since returning from an injury lay-off that kept him out of a few matches for the club.
German forward Leroy Sane opened the scoring in the first half after a neat interchange with Lucas Torreira, before slotting home past the goalkeeper.
Sane turned provided moments later, playing a nice pass to Osimhen, who finished to give Galatasaray a two-goal advantage into the break.
The visitors upped the tempo in the second half and pulled one back through Anthony Musaba, who headed in from close range.
Emre Kilinc then scored the equalizer in the 88th minute with a curling effort that took a nick off Osimhen’s boot.
The Super Eagles striker had the final say in the clash, producing a stunning overhead kick in the dying moments to put his side back in the lead.
Galatasaray recorded a 3-2 win and increased the gap over second-placed Fenerbahce to four points.
What Samsunspor President said about Osimhen
Speaking after the clash, Samsunspor president Yuksel Yildirim was stunned by the performance of Osimhen, who scored twice in the clash.
The 64-year-old also expressed disappointment over his side’s result as they failed to secure a point from the game having initially overturned a two-goal deficit.
“My ears were blocked while watching the match in the second half.
“The Galatasaray fans were trying to stop Samsunspor with incredible whistling. Samsunspor asserted their dominance in the second half. We could have scored. We missed chances. ‘If we’re going to lose, let’s lose like this”, Yildirim said.
“Then, in the 88th minute, we got the goal we were waiting for. We brought the score from 2-0 to 2-2. We thought the match would end like this. Then Victor Osimhen showed why he’s an €80 million player. No one else in Türkiye could have scored that goal.”
Galatasaray turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League, where they face French side AS Monaco on Tuesday.
