Samuel Chukwueze returned to action as Fulham cruised to a 3–0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Nigerian winger made his first appearance since recovering from a calf injury sustained in October while on international duty with the Super Eagles.
Chukwueze came on for Harry Wilson in the 77th minute and showed sharpness right away, registering one shot on target and striking the crossbar late on.

How the Match Unfolded
Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Wolves’ task became harder after a 32nd‑minute red card reduced them to ten men.
Harry Wilson doubled the advantage on 62 minutes before a Yerson Mosquera own goal on 75 minutes sealed a comfortable victory for Marco Silva’s side.
Compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey also featured: Bassey played the full 90 minutes in defence, while Iwobi started and later made way for Adama Traoré in the 89th minute.
Boost for Super Eagles ahead of World Cup Playoffs.
Chukwueze’s return is a welcome boost for Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the playoff tournament will take place in Rabat, Morocco, from 13–16 November 2025.

Nigeria will face Gabon in their opening match, with the winner meeting either Cameroon or DR Congo for a place in the Inter-Continental Playoffs the final step toward World Cup qualification.
Chukwueze played a key role in Nigeria’s qualification campaign earlier this year, especially in the 4–0 win over Benin, where he provided two assists.
What’s Next
Fulham will face Everton away in their next Premier League fixture. For Nigeria, attention turns to Eric Chelle’s squad selection for the World Cup playoffs, where Chukwueze is expected to feature if he remains fit.
