English Premier League club Chelsea have reached a agreement with Bayern Munich, as Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson is now close to completing his transfer to the Bavarians.

Jackson’s future was uncertain for the last few weeks, as he was told by the Chelsea that he was surplus to requirements. He did not partake in their pre-season and has not been involved in the Premier League this season.

Then, last week, news broke that the 24-year-old striker was close to sealing a loan transfer to German champions Bayern Munich. In fact, he traveled to Germany on Saturday to undergo his medical and seal the deal.

However, before everything was finalized, Chelsea reached out to Bayern Munich and Jackson to inform them that they were no longer interested, due to an injury to their second-choice striker Liam Delap.

That sparked an uproar. Even Jackson’s agent Ali Barat has been blowing hot over the issue.

But all the parties have now reached a compromise, as transfers expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Jackson is close to joining Bayern Munich.

How Bayern Munich Pulled Off Nicolas Jackson Deal

In the initial deal, Bayern Munich offered €15 million to Chelsea to make the deal happen. However, due to the Chelsea’s decision to call the deal off, the Bavarians increased their bid to €16.5 million, and this was enough enough to convince the FIFA Club World Cup champions.

There is also an obligation to buy clause, which will see Jackson sign a five-year deal. In total, Bayern Munich could spend up to €80 million on Jackson.
