Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has hailed head coach Okan Buruk’s influence at the club, expressing confidence that greater success lies ahead under his leadership, SportPremi reports.

The Galatasaray boss recorded his 100th win in charge of the Turkish champions, since joining them in 2022.

Osimhen hails Buruk’s influence
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his brilliant goalscoring form with another strike in the come from behind victory.
Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old showered praises on the Turkish manager and is confident of more success at the club.
“He absolutely deserves it. He’s not only a great coach, but also a great person. He’s one of the best people I know. From a humanitarian perspective, I’m incredibly happy with all his achievements,” Osimhen stated.

Osimhen also praised his teammates display as they overcame initial setback to record their ninth league win of the season and stay five points clear of second-placed Trabzonspor.
“First, I want to congratulate the team. We were truly incredible mentally. Even down 1-0, the entire team was giving everything they had to win”, Osimhen added.
”I want to thank our fans. Without them, it would have been impossible to compete like this and be so motivated.”
How it happened
Goztepe started off strongly and took a shock lead in front of the Galatasaray home fans after Efkan Bekiroglu slotted into the net following a rebound off the post.
The home side leveled matters in the 19th minute, when the in-form Osimhen rounded the goalkeeper and finished superbly into the corner.
The visitors’ then had a man sent off after Malcom Bokele was sent off for a second caution, making their task more difficult.
Galatasaray took advantage of their extra man advantage, scoring twice in the second half to seal the victory.
Gabriel Sara scored their second in 63rd minute, producing a stunning finish from the edge of the box.
Osimhen was then denied by a stunning save from the Goztepe goalkeeper, but Mauro Icardi was on hand to fire the rebound inside the net to make it 3-1 three minutes later.
Galatasaray remain top of the Turkish league standings and maintain a five-gap margin over Trabzonspor in second, ahead of other rounds of fixtures.
