Five Super Falcons players have been named in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) Africa best XI for 2025, capping off an impressive year for the Nigerian women’s national team, SportPremi reports.

Nigeria emerged winners of the delayed 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, which was held in July last year and the players have now been rewarded for their performances.
In the list published by the association, Nigeria boasts five players from the 11, which is the most of any country. Runners-up Morocco and former champions South Africa have two entries each, while Zambia and Malawi complete the lineup.

Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie retains her spot in goal after a remarkable year where she guided Nigeria to a record-extending 10th WAFCON crown. The 25-year-old also won the CAF Women’s goalkeeper of the year award for a third consecutive year, highlighting her status as one of the continent’s best-ever shot-stopper.
Michelle Alozie and Ashley Plumptre represent Nigeria in defence, while Rasheedat Ajibade and Christy Ucheibe also take up spots in the midfield alongside CAF Women’s Player of the year winner Ghizlane Chebbak.
However, there is no room for AFC Toronto’s forward Esther Okoronkwo in attack, which is filled up by Zambia’s Barbra Banda, Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga, as well as Morocco’s Sanaa Mssoudy.
