Aston Villa manager Unai Emery was impressed with his side’s fighting spirit, after they came from two goals down to secure a 3-1 win against Fulham on Sunday.

The Claret and Blue were in the relegation zone before the game after failing to win any of their first five league matches of the season.
Following the 1-0 win over Bologna in their UEFA Europa League opener last Thursday, Unai Emery had demanded that his side showed consistency as they look to kickstart their season.
However, they got off to the wrong start as the visitors took an early lead through a third minute header from Raul Jimenez.
Ollie Watkins equalized for Villa in the 33rd minute, bouncing back from his penalty miss on Thursday to score his first goal of the season.
One became two few minutes into the second half as John McGinn scored his side’s second goal of the game.
Emiliano Buendia added a third in the 51st minute, to complete the comeback win as Villa claimed a first league win of the game.
The win also moves the home side out of the relegation zone, as they moved up to 14th-place in the EPL standings.
Up next for Aston Villa is a trip to Netherlands to face Feyenoord in their second Europa League match of the season on Thursday.
Emery’s Villa get their first win
At the sixth time of asking, Aston Villa finally got their first win of the season, having to comeback from a goal down to defeat Fulham.
Speaking after the game, Emery praised his side’s performance as they fought back from a goal down to record their first win of the season.
“Happy. Overall, we kept the consistency we achieved on Thursday in Europa League”, Emery said.
“We started a little bit under our necessary energy on the field. We conceded one goal and then it was a difficult moment but we reacted, more than tactically.
“Then we were being aggressive, trying to get into the box. The result was through our energy and through our wishes to come back.”
