Victor Boniface’s transfer to AC Milan could hit the rocks as the club are now uncertain about the move due to his bad injury history.

Only some days ago, Boniface’s transfer to AC Milan seemed to be sealed and delivered. The proposed contract involves a loan deal first, then a permanent transfer by next year.

The transfer should have been completed on Friday, but it has now hit a snag. AC Milan are uncomfortable about Boniface’s medical history.

At just 24 years of age, Boniface has suffered anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries twice. ACL injuries are usually painful and keep players sidelined for up to a year. And when they even return, they struggle to reach their previous best.

Boniface has also struggled with multiple injuries at Bayer Leverkusen, which has made him miss a lot of games.

So, the Rossoneri are applying caution before finally concluding the transfer.

AC Milan Chief Drops Update on Victor Boniface

On Saturday, the club’s director Igli Tare spoke about Victor Boniface’s issue and he admitted that they are impressed with the Super Eagles striker’s ability. But they want to make the best decision for them.

“There were no additional medical checks. We were aware of the past issues, and we’re evaluating the player’s health thoroughly. His qualities are unquestionable. We’re trying to make the right decision for this situation,” Tare said.

“Of course, the transfer window ends soon (laughs). We’ll discuss it with the coach soon and make a final decision. We’re not putting pressure on ourselves; at most, we’ll put it on others.”

An update on Victor Boniface is expected to be out on Monday at most, and the Nigerian will be hoping that things work in his favour.
