Manchester United were leading 2-0 against Tottenham, with the game about to reach stoppage-time when Cristiano Ronaldo decided to storm down the tunnel.
The Portugal international watched from the stands as an unused substitute, as goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes saw Man United United overcome Spurs to move within a point of the Premier League’s top four, but Ronaldo saw enough when Ten Hag chose not to bring him off the bench.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport after the match, Man United boss Erik ten Hag said of Ronaldo:
“He was there. I have seen him yeah, but I didn’t speak to him after. I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. Today, we are celebrating this victory and now we have to recover from this for Saturday. Chelsea, another big game but the Premier League is so exciting.”

WHAT NEXT? Having won against Tottenham without Ronaldo, United may have to repeat the same strategy away at Chelsea on the weekend.
