Gernot Rohr will be missing two important players for his Benin side when they take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their final game of the 2025 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, SportsPremi reports.

Coming into this round of games, some key Beninoise players like Abdoul Moumini, Junior Olaitan, and Rodolfo Aloko were ruled out of action due to varying injuries.

Nonetheless, Rohr prosecuted their game against Rwanda on Friday without those players, and they ran out with a tough 1-0 victory.

Unfortunately for the Franco-German, he lost another two players in the Rwanda games, not to injuries though.

In that game, three Squirrels players got carded - Doukou Dodo, Sessi D’Almeida, and Yohan Roche.

According to the rules of the qualifiers, any player who gets yellow carded twice would automatically have a one-game suspension.

Per Football Benin, the yellow cards to Roche and D’Almeida were their second in the World Cup Qualifiers, which means that they are ineligible to play against Nigeria in the final game of the series on Tuesday.

This is a big boost for Nigeria, as the Franco-German will have to make use of players who would ordinarily start from the bench. This means that the Super Eagles will be facing a weakened side - quality-wise.

Nonetheless, the Super Eagles have shown that they can’t be trusted whether the ovation is loud or not. The Squirrels know that they just need to win to qualify, so there will be fire in their eyes.

Despite the absences for Benin, they will likely give the Super Eagles a run for their money when both teams lock horns at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
