Brentford manager Keith Andrews has hailed his team’s performance, despite going down 1-0 to Manchester City in the English Premier League on Sunday.

The Bees had recorded impressive results in their last two home league matches, first holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw, before a comprehensive 3-1 defeat of Manchester United last weekend.
However, their winless run against the Cityzens stretched to five games on Sunday following the narrow defeat.
Erling Haaland scored an early goal for the visitors, firing past Kelleher in the Brentford goal to open scoring in the ninth minute of the clash.
The visitors also suffered an injury in the first half following the withdrawal of 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, but continued to dominate the first half and wasted several goalscoring opportunities.
Tijjani Reijnders was denied by brilliant goalkeeping at one end, while Igor Thiago was also superbly stopped by Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The match ended 1-0 as Brentford failed to score for the first time this season and remain 16th on the standings with seven points.
The Bees are back in action after the international break, traveling to struggling West Ham United in search of their first away win of the season.
Andrews sees positives despite defeat to City
Speaking in the post match press conference, Keith Andrews was disappointed his side were unable to get a point from the match, despite improving in the second half.
“Second half, it felt like we were the more dominant team and had better chances. They had one shot in the second half.
We unnerved them in the second half and made it really uncomfortable for them, created a few opportunities and just looked more dangerous, more like us”, the Brentford boss said.
“To come away with nothing is disappointed. They’re a very good team. They dominated the ball. In every game this season, they have periods where they control proceedings.
“We felt we grew into the game, but the second half was more like us”, Andrews added.
