Fulham head coach Marco Silva has confirmed that Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss Saturday’s crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Iwobi has been out of action since suffering an injury during a Premier League clash against Brentford this month and will still miss this weekend’s action as he continues his recovery from injury.
The 29-year-old has featured 27 times in the league for Marco Silva’s men and had to come off against the Bees in the 43rd minute, with compatriot Samuel Chukwueze replacing him.
He also missed the 1-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend and is a major doubt heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
Fulham are 10th on the standings with 48 points from their opening 34 matches, as they chase qualification for an European spot with just four games left to play this season.
Alex Iwobi ruled out of Arsenal clash
Speaking during Thursday’s press conference, Marco Silva confirmed that Fulham will continue to be without Iwobi, while sharing the latest team news to the press.
The Portuguese coach also confirmed other absentees, which includes the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Kevin and Kenny Tete.
“Sessegnon is going to be out of the next game, and probably the one after will be the same story for him, and then we will have to assess him day by day. For the Arsenal game, for sure out. For the game after, for sure out”, Silva said.
“Alex [Iwobi] is out still, plus Kevin. Kenny [Tete], we will have to see how he reacts from the last two sessions. He can probably be involved in the game.
“We have some doubts on some players, but we will assess them tomorrow to see how they react from things that happened in the week”, the Fulham boss concluded.
With Iwobi out of the Arsenal clash, Fulham will look to other players in the squad to provide the creative spark in the middle of the park, as they aim for a shock result at the Emirates Stadium.
