Former Super Eagles international Victor Ikpeba has singled out Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo as a potential transfer option for Liverpool in the January transfer window, SportPremi reports.

The 25-year-old has been one of the best performers in the 2025-26 English Premier League, scoring six times and providing three assists in nine appearances as Bournemouth occupy a surprise second spot on the standings.
The forward was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window, but opted to remain at the Cherries, with the Red Devils going on to sign Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
He made 17 goal contributions in the league last season and has already began the season in similarly impressive form.

Semenyo began the campaign with a brace against Liverpool and has also scored against Brighton, Leeds and Fulham (2).
What Ikpeba said
Speaking in an interview, ‘the Prince of Monaco’ acknowledged the wuality of Antoine Semenyo and believes he will be a key addition to the Liverpool squad in the winter.
“Maybe in January, Liverpool will try to sign him. After the first game of the season, Liverpool versus Bournemouth, you know he scored two brilliant goals”, the Nigerian legend said.
“I saw Slot go over to him after the match to congratulate him. He spoke with him; he’s a big admirer of Semenyo.
He can play for Liverpool from the left side. I do feel Semenyo would bring more to this Liverpool team. Gakpo can play as a striker too”, Ikpeba added.
“It’s not about dropping Hugo Ekitike, but about creating competition.”
How will Semenyo fit into Liverpool’s team
The Premier League champions invested massively in the squad in the summer, making several big-money signings headlined by Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
French forward Hugo Ekitike, who can also play off the left in Semenyo’s preferred position, also moved to the club from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Reds have struggled to find a balanced team so far this season, with manager Arne Slot making multiple tweaks to the starting lineup.
Semenyo’s pace and impressive work rate makes him an upgrade on Cody Gakpo on the left wing, while his EPL experience also makes him a very valuable addition to the squad.
The Ghanaian also contributes to the team’s defensive plays, constantly helping out the left-back in tracking down the opposing winger.
His signing could exceed £75 million, but Liverpool would be getting excellent value for their money if they manage to pull it off.
