The highly-competitive English Premier League moved into matchday 10, while La Liga reached its 11th round and the German Bundesliga entered matchday nine.

Meanwhile, the French Ligue 1 progressed to its 11th gameweek, and Serie A entered its 10th, with several shifts in the league standings.

In this article, SportPremi takes a look at some of Nigerian players’ performances across the last weekend in Europe’s major leagues;

English Premier League

Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze were on the winning side as Fulham ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Tolu Arokodare’s Wolves.

Chukwueze returned from an injury lay-off and produced an impressive cameo, while Arokodare could only do little as Wolves winless start to the season continued.

At Selhurst Park, Christantus Uche spent the entire 90 minutes on the bench in Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win over Brentford, who also had Frank Onyeka on the bench.

Elsewhere, Taiwo Awoniyi came on in the second half in Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United. Ola Aina, meanwhile, continues his recovery from an injury suffered earlier in the season.

Spanish La Liga

Nigerian duo of Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke both came off the bench, but could not prevent Sevilla from falling to a 3-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

French Ligue One

Super Eagles midfielder Moses Simon netted the only goal of the encounter as newly-promoted Paris FC recorded a shock 1-0 win over title-chasing AS Monaco.

It marked the former Nantes attacker third goal of the season and increases his goal contributions to five from 11 league matches.

Chidozie Awaziem played the entire 90 minutes for Nantes, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Metz.

Elsewhere, Terem Moffi remains sidelined with injury and was absent in his side’s 1-0 defeat to champions Paris Saint Germain.

Italian Serie A

Gift Orban continued his brilliant start to life with another assist for Hellas Verona, although they suffered an agonizing 2-1 defeat to 2024 champions Inter Milan.

The youngster was impressive and proved too much to handle for Milan defenders until his substitution in the 73rd minute.

Elsewhere, Maduka Okoye produced another assured display in goal since his return from suspension following a betting scandal, keeping a clean sheet for Udinese in their 1-0 win over Atalanta on Saturday.

Reigning African footballer of the year Ademola Lookman, came on in the second half of that encounter, but was unable to get on the scoresheet for his side.

German Bundesliga

Victor Boniface was in action for about 64 minutes as Werder Bremen battled to a 1-1 draw against Mainz in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
