Speaking after the win, the Ivorian was delighted on his return to action and also showered praises on Osimhen.

“I am very happy with the victory here tonight. We got this result from great teamwork.

We got this away win. We did a very good job of improving my fitness after my injury”, Singo said in an interview.

“Everyone who took care of me worked at the highest level. I think I got a good result after the injury.

Osimhen is a very big player and scorer. I’m so happy to play with him.

“He’s winning us a lot of games with his goals. I’m so happy to play with him”, the 24-year-old concluded.

How Osimhen made history

Victor Osimhen made history last month after scoring a brace in Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League match-day three.

The Nigerian striker created more history with his treble on match-day four, as he continues his impressive career in Turkey.

The 2023 African footballer of the year winner could have gotten a brace in the first half, but was denied by brilliant goalkeeping by the Ajax goalkeeper.

However, the Super Eagles superstar was not to be denied as he opened the scoring in the second half with a superb header after a cross from Leroy Sane.

Osimhen doubled his and Galatasaray’s tally moments later, after he calmly converted from the penalty spot.

The 26-year-old then scored another penalty kick to complete his hat-trick and seal a comfortable win for the Turkish champions.

He became the first Galatasaray player to score back-to-back braces in the UCL and the first to bag a hat-trick in the competition since 2012.

Osimhen also became Nigeria’s outright goalscorer in European competitions with 25 goals, surpassing Obafemi Martins who previously held top spot with 23 goals.
