Wolves forward Tolu Arokodare commended his side’s effort against Crystal Palace, saying their performance merited a better outcome than the defeat they suffered, SportPremi reports.

The West Midlands club suffered their 10th defeat of the 2025-26 campaign on Saturday when they a 2-0 defeat to the Eagles at the Molineux.
Rob Edwards, who was taking charge of his first game since taking over, could only watch on as the club remained rooted to the bottom of the standings and without a win in the league this season.
The 42-year-old had replaced Vitor Pereira who was dismissed earlier in the month after failing to win any of their first ten league matches.
Wolves lose yet again
Wolves headed into the clash as the only remaining side without a win in the English Premier League this season, having picked up just two points from their first 11 matches.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, had won three of their last four in all competitions and were eyeing another win before heading into the midweek European action.
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare started only his third league game of the season alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen in an attacking lineup.
The latter sliced an early chance wide, before Mateta also put an effort wide after he was put in a promising position by Adam Wharton.
Sam Johnstone then saved an effort from Daichi Kamada, while Dean Henderson saved a deflected effort from Joao Gomes, as both sides traded chances.
Crystal Palace took the lead in the second half after Daniel Munoz fired into the net inside the box after a corner kick had caused problems for Wolves.
Yeremy Pino then added a spectacular second soon afterwards, curling into the top corner from outside the area.
Wolves then wasted two wonderful opportunities to get themselves on the scoresheet as the game ended 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
Arokodare speaks after Wolves latest defeat
Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to the Eagles, Tolu Arokodare believes the team showed sogns of improvement and are close to ending their winless drought.
“We showed a lot of energy, a lot of fighting spirit, and that’s what we focused on from the start of the week. The trainings were very intensive, and we had good spirits, and we came to this game with good spirits”, the Nigerian forward said.
“I don’t think it really went wrong anywhere until the goal. You cannot say it was bad defending or anything, we were just unlucky with the deflection. But luckily for them, they had a player to put it in the back of the net.
“But I thought we did pretty good the whole game, from the start to the end. Even after going two goals down, we still tried to play our football, but we didn’t get the result.”
On what the team must do
“I don’t think there’s an amount – every little bit of confidence matters. I don’t think there has to be a certain amount”, Arokodare continued.
“We just have had to stay confident, stay positive and keep working and hopefully we get the results.”
Wolves will hope to register their first league win of the season when they face Aston Villa next weekend.
