Super Eagles legend Victor Ikpeba has expressed satisfaction with the performances of striker Akor Adams for the Nigerian national team and urged him to maintain concentration, SportPremi reports.

One would be mistaken to think the Sevilla striker has been with the team for many years with his remarkable understanding of the setup.
However, he only made his senior debut in October 2025, netting the winner in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Lesotho in a World Cup qualifying match.
The 25-year-old has made nine appearances for the Super Eagles and has played in every of their match so far at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament, highlighting his importance to Eric Chelle’s setup.
Adams has scored twice in Morocco, netting his maiden AFCON goal with a superb strike in the 4-0 win over Mozambique in the Round of 16 and getting his second in the 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Algeria.

The Sevilla striker will be hoping for another goalscoring appearance in the Super Eagles crucial semifinal clash against host nation Morocco in Rabat on Wednesday.
Everything Ikpeba said about Adams
Victor Ikpeba, who was named the African footballer of the year in 1997 and helped the Super Eagles to victory in the 1994 African Cup of Nations tournament, hailed the influence of Adams since making his senior debut.
The 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist also urged the striker to maintain concentration in order for him to continue performing at the top level.
“I personally have been really impressed with Akor Adams, just his movement and how unselfish he is. He’s shown that he is the future”, Ikpeba said.
“Lots of credit to the manager. He had the faith in him and saw the potential. We already knew he had those qualities playing for Sevilla, so we’re very proud.
He’s a big lad, it’s not easy to play against him. He’s quick with the ball and he can strike it really well. He looks like he’s been playing for the Super Eagles for years. He needs to remain focused and not get carried away”, the former CAF Men’s Player of the year winner concluded.
Adams is expected to lead the Super Eagles attack alongside strike partner Victor Osimhen in their last four encounter against the Atlas Lions later tomorrow.
