Alex Iwobi has attributed Nigeria’s impressive run at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to the strong sense of unity and brotherhood within the Super Eagles camp, SportPremi reports.

Nigeria have been one of the most watchable teams so far at the ongoing tournament and remain the only team with a 100% record.
They have won every of their five matches convincingly and prepare for a stern semifinal clash against host nations Morocco on Wednesday night.

The Super Eagles have also scored 14 goals at the tournament which is the most of any participating team and is two more than their most prolific campaign in AFCON history -10 at the 2000 edition.
Despite a moment of disagreement on the pitch between Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman during the win over Mozambique, the team has moved past that and displayed great togetherness in the win over Algeria in their following match.
Iwobi speaks ahead of Morocco clash
Alex Iwobi, who has been one of the Super Eagles best performers at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, has credited the bond and unity for the team’s success.
“For me I feel it is the family environment we have created, the brotherhood within the team. Everyone cares about how the other feels, we are united and all pushing in the same direction to make sure we succeed on pitch”, Iwobi admitted.
“From the previous AFCON where we performed very well, we were a bit young but you realize now everyone is entering their prime and performing well both at club and the national team.”

“My intention was to control my narrative because obviously everyone sees the football side but I’m trying to show that we are equally human, we have the fun side.
“There is a lot of characters, lots of personalities but when we go to the pitch, we go for war, we fight and make sure we give our best. I hope everyone out there is enjoying the content”, the 29-year-old continued.
The Fulham midfielder also reflected on the country’s failure to qualify for the World Cup tournament later this year and how the disappointment has fueled a new energy in their performance.
The Super Eagles failed in their bid to reach football’s biggest competition following their penalty shootout defeat to DR Congo in the CAF playoff finals in November 2025.
“I feel like everybody has this task ahead that we want to win every game. Obviously we wanted to qualify for the World Cup but it did not happen and we are trying to use that disappointment as a push factor for ourselves and our country.”
Nigeria and Morocco clash in the semifinal of the 2025 AFCON tournament, with the winner going on to meet either Egypt or Senegal in the final on Sunday.
